Ella's SOAPBOX
Making Differences
Making Differences
Ella's Soapbox is committed to making safe, natural soap and to helping understand the causes of anencephaly and neural tube defects. We donate 10% of our profits to anencephaly research and to non-profits dedicated to supporting families during and after pregnancy and infant loss.
I got on stage five months after Ella died to tell people that she was here. I continued to share her beauty through soapmaking and telling her story at markets. In this space, so many people shared, cried, and loved and I knew that the platform of Ella's Soapbox did not belong to me.
In sharing my daughter, I have met so many other loss families, and with love, I have asked to share their babies and their stories.
Each of our soap bars is named after another baby who is loved and remembered. We invite you to read about them, remember them, know that they were here. And know that no matter how long, or how long ago, their tiny hearts beat, they made a difference.
In August of 2024, a studio at the Box Factory for the Arts became available, and Ella's Soapbox, from which I had taken a 2-year break, came back together. 2024 was 4 months of rebuilding and reimagining, so rather than 10% of profits (of which there were none ;)), 10% of sales were donated to Duke University's Anencephaly Research.
As Ella's Soapbox grows, and the families I meet continue to change my life, new ways to honor these precious lives become apparent.
For their debut and birth months, I've asked these families which non-profit would be most meaningful to them and in addition to the 10% we donate to anencephaly research and pregnanacy and infant loss support, we will donate $2 for every bar of the baby's soap sold during his or her debut and birth month.
Through the month of May, for every bar of Liam's soap sold, we will donate $2 to PKD Foundation in his memory
